My journey with motorhomes began in the late 1980s, as a young boy traveling across Europe with my parents and brothers. These trips were the highlight of my childhood and sparked a lifelong passion for motorhomes and the adventures they bring.

My journey with motorhomes began in the late 1980s, as a young boy traveling across Europe with my parents and brothers. These trips were the highlight of my childhood and sparked a lifelong passion for motorhomes and the adventures they bring.

In the early 1990s, my parents took a bold step and founded the now well-known business, Van Bitz. From as far back as I can remember, I was involved in the family business—whether it was sweeping the floors, organizing screws and terminals, or filing paperwork, my parents always found a way to keep us involved and learning.

At the age of 13, I officially started working at Van Bitz during weekends, after school, and throughout the holidays. When I finished school at 16, I joined the company full-time, staying on for the next 8 years.

Eager to expand my knowledge of the vehicles I was working on, I accepted a sales role at Chelston Motorhomes. I spent three incredible years there, selling motorhomes—what I often referred to as “the dream”—and learning from an inspiring team of professionals.

In 2012, I returned to Van Bitz with a fresh perspective on customer needs and how best to serve them. I threw myself into the business, learning every aspect from the ground up. That experience shaped my understanding of what it takes to run a truly successful company.

To me, success isn’t just about sales—it’s about aftersales. A happy, satisfied customer is the cornerstone of any good business. Great feedback, word-of-mouth recommendations, and returning clients are the clearest signs that we’re doing things right.

For my last four years at Van Bitz, I was leading the team with that philosophy in mind, and the results speak for themselves. In December 2022, Van Bitz was sold, and my role grew significantly during the transition. Although my time there was amazing, I knew it was the right moment to start a new chapter.

Watching the success of two of my brothers—who respectively founded Andrew James Motorhomes and Select Motorhomes—further inspired me to take that next step. This new venture represents more than just a business opportunity—it’s a chance to build something fresh and exciting alongside trusted, loyal friends who chose to join me on this journey.

Together, at WattGuardz we’re committed to delivering the same passion, quality, and care that have defined my career from the very beginning.
